Description

Advanced Iron Complex (formerly Ferrasorb) is a complete blood-building formula.* Hematinic formulas provide the nutrients needed for creating new red blood cells.* Studies indicate that a hematinic formula using a combination of folate, vitamin B12, and iron is superior to a formula using any one of these nutrients alone. Each of these nutrients is dependent upon the other for proper red blood cell formation.*

Iron deficiency can manifest as weakness, fatigue, shortness of breath on exertion, dizziness, tinnitus, spots before the eyes, drowsiness, irritability, infrequent menses, and loss of libido.* Individuals who have a greater need for iron, or who tend to chronically lose iron, or who don't absorb iron well, can benefit from a formula that can increase the amount of hemoglobin in the blood, such as Advanced Iron Complex®.* Studies indicate that combining iron with essential B vitamins and vitamin C is superior to using these nutrients individually.* Advanced Iron Complex combines the active forms of vitamin B6 (pyridoxal 5'-phosphate), vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin), and folate (L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate) with well-absorbed iron bisglycinate – for an optimal blood-building supplement.* Vitamin C is added to enhance iron's absorption.*

Individuals who are susceptible to being deficient in iron include teenage girls, pregnant women, women of childbearing age (particularly if they have heavy menses), individuals with malabsorption syndromes (Crohn's disease or Celiac disease), individuals on chemotherapy, elderly patients with low stomach acid secretion, and individuals with poor kidney function.*

Suggested Use: Take 1 capsule one to three times daily or as recommended by your health-care practitioner.

ALLERGY WARNINGS: This product is contraindicated in an individual with a history of hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.

Excipient free This product does not contain wheat, gluten, corn, yeast, soy, egg, dairy products, or artificial colors, sweeteners, or flavors. This product also does not contain lactose, palmitic acid, or magnesium, calcium, or vegetable stearates.

Pregnancy Warning If pregnant, consult your health-care practitioner before using this product.

Interactions/Contraindications Folinic acid and 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate supplementation is not recommended concurrently with methotrexate cancer therapy, as they can interfere with methotrexate's anti-neoplastic activity; however, these folate sources have not been shown to interfere with the anti-inflammatory activity of methotrexate. An individual taking methotrexate for psoriasis or rheumatoid arthritis can safely take a supplement containing folate.

Other Warnings Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under six. Keep this product out of reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, call a doctor or poison control center immediately.
